Terms and Conditions
Version 1.0 · Effective date: July 27, 2026
These terms govern the use of Podio, the app for tracking amateur padel matches on Android and iOS, and of this site. This English version is a courtesy translation: if anything differs, the Spanish version prevails. The short version, before the detail:
- The app is free, and what you record remains yours.
- We ask one thing in return: do not ruin the experience for everyone else. No offensive content, no fake results, no harassment.
- If someone breaks those rules, we can hide content and suspend or close accounts. You have tools to block and report.
- Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer law grants you.
That is the essence. What follows is the full detail, section by section.
Acceptance and who we are
The service is provided by Gonzalo Sánchez, in Argentina, the same name listed as the developer of Podio on the app stores. You can reach him by email at sanchez.gonzalo94@gmail.com.
When you create your account you expressly accept these terms and the privacy policy, and that acceptance is what entitles you to use the service and to post content on it. If you disagree with anything that follows, do not use the service.
When we say “the service” we mean the Podio app, this site, and the features around them. When we say “we”, the responsible party identified above.
Eligibility
Podio is for people aged 16 or older. When you sign up we ask for your year of birth to verify it; if we detect an account belonging to someone under 16, we delete it.
We also ask two basic things: that your account data is real and up to date, and that you keep one account per person. This is a ranking app: with duplicate accounts or invented identities the ranking stops making sense.
The service
Podio is for recording amateur padel matches, confirming results with your opponents, seeing your position in the ranking, creating and playing leagues, and following other players.
Today the service is free and has no ads. We cannot promise it will stay that way forever: if some part of the service ever becomes paid, we will tell you in advance and never retroactively; nobody will owe money for what they already used for free.
We may also change, add, or discontinue features of the service. If a change affects you in a significant way, we will tell you beforehand.
Your account
You can create your account with email and password, or by signing in with Google or with Apple. The account is personal and non-transferable.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for everything done from your account. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, let us know at sanchez.gonzalo94@gmail.com so we can protect it; we may temporarily suspend an account if we suspect it is compromised.
License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and this site in accordance with these terms. That does not include any right to copy, modify, decompile, or reverse engineer the app, nor to access the service by automated means (scraping, bots) or to interfere with its operation.
On iOS, the app as a piece of software is licensed under Apple’s standard EULA (Licensed Application End User License Agreement); these terms govern the service: your account, your content, and the community rules. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no maintenance or support obligation for it. On Android, downloading from Google Play is additionally governed by that store’s terms.
Your content
What you record in Podio is yours: your match results, your photos, your leagues, your profile. You do not transfer ownership of anything to us.
To operate the service we need your permission to use that content: you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (to our infrastructure providers) license to host, reproduce, display, and technically adapt your content, for two purposes only: operating the service and promoting it (for example, showing a standings table or a match in an app screenshot). This license lasts as long as your content exists in the service; content that persists anonymously after you delete your account (see “Closing your account”) remains covered by it.
By uploading content you declare that you have the right to do so. This includes something specific to Podio: if you record a match with guest players who do not have an account, you are entering the first and last name of real people. You declare that those people agree to appear in the match. The same goes for anyone you mention in the note of a report.
Keep in mind what is visible to others: your profile and your matches are public inside the app, leagues are visible to their members, who you follow is public, and who you block is visible only to you. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Community rules
Podio is a community of people who play padel. For it to work, the following is prohibited:
- Posting objectionable or offensive content: insults, discriminatory or hateful content, violence, sexual content, or any content clearly inappropriate for a sports community open to people from age 16.
- Harassing, intimidating, or threatening other people, in or outside a match.
- Impersonating another person, in your profile or in a match.
- Recording fake results, inflating or manipulating the ranking, or confirming matches that were not played.
- Spamming: advertising, chain content, repetitive or irrelevant content.
- Posting another person’s personal data without their consent.
- Using the service for any illegal activity.
You have tools to protect yourself without waiting for us: you can block any user (they stop appearing in your search results, and the block is private: the other person receives no notice) and you can report a profile, a username, a photo, or a match, choosing a reason and adding a note if you want.
Moderation
Reports go to a moderation queue that we review promptly, with a 24 hour response target.
If content or conduct violates these rules, we can act without prior notice: hide or remove the content (a photo, a username, the photos of a match), suspend the responsible account or, in serious or repeated cases, close it. A suspended account can still open the app and view its content, but cannot post, record matches, report, or interact until its situation is resolved; while the suspension lasts, the account also does not appear in the ranking.
Moderation today is done directly by the person responsible for the service, not by a team or an automated system. If you believe we got a decision about your account or your content wrong, write to sanchez.gonzalo94@gmail.com: suspensions can be reviewed and reversed.
Closing your account
You can delete your account whenever you want, from the app (Profile, Settings, Account) or from the account deletion page if you have already uninstalled it. Deletion works as the privacy policy explains: your personal data is wiped and your matches become anonymous rather than disappearing, because they are also the history of the other people who played.
We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms (see “Moderation”), if the law requires us to, or if we detect that you are under 16.
Some parts of these terms survive the closing of the account, because they refer to things that continue to exist afterwards: the license over content that persists anonymously, the “No warranties” and “Liability” sections, and “Governing law and jurisdiction”.
Third-party services
The service relies on third-party services: sign-in with Google or with Apple, Firebase (Google) infrastructure, and the YouTube player when a match has an associated video. Those services have their own terms and policies, which apply when you use them. The full list of providers and what data each one handles is in the privacy policy.
The app may also contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
Intellectual property
The app, this site, their design, code, name, and marks are ours or used under license from their owners. These terms give you no rights over them beyond the use license in the “License to use the app” section.
If you send us ideas or suggestions about the service, we may use them to improve it without any obligation to you. We love receiving them all the same.
No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. It is a free service and we do everything we can to keep it running, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free.
There is something important to understand about the nature of Podio: match results are entered by the users themselves, and the rating and the ranking are computed from those results. We verify what we can (opponent confirmations exist for that), but we do not guarantee the accuracy of results entered by others nor, consequently, that of the ratings and rankings derived from them.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the service, for content posted by other users, or for the conduct of other users on or off the app.
Now, the most important part of this section: nothing in these terms limits the rights that consumer protection law grants you. If a clause of these terms were found abusive under Argentina’s Consumer Protection Law 24.240, that clause does not apply; your rights as a consumer always remain untouched, and any ambiguity in these terms is interpreted in your favor.
For your part, if a breach of these terms by you (for example, uploading content you had no rights to) triggers a third-party claim against us, we ask you to cooperate in resolving it and to answer for that damage, always to the extent the law allows.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we publish the new version here with its number and its effective date. If the change is significant, we will tell you before it takes effect, in the app or by email. If you keep using the service after the effective date, we take that as acceptance of the new version; if you disagree, you can delete your account before that date.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute is resolved before the ordinary courts corresponding to your domicile, as a consumer. We do not impose any foreign court or any jurisdiction far from you.
Four general provisions to close:
- Severability: if a clause of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
- Entire agreement: these terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service.
- Assignment: you may not assign your account or these terms to someone else. We may assign them to an entity that continues operating the service (for example, if the project incorporates as a company), with notice to you.
- Force majeure: we are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Language
These terms are drafted in Spanish, which is the executed version of the agreement. This English version is a courtesy translation: if anything differs, the Spanish version prevails. Both versions are published together, with the same version number and the same date.
Contact
For any question about these terms or the service, or to get support: sanchez.gonzalo94@gmail.com. It is the same contact for everything, and a person answers.
